Outpatient Pediatric Nurse

Job Description:

We are currently seeking a compassionate and experienced Outpatient Pediatric Nurse to join our team. In this role, you will provide high-quality nursing care to pediatric patients in our outpatient clinic, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and Monitor Patients: Conduct thorough assessments of pediatric patients, including vital signs, growth and development milestones, and overall health status. Monitor patients' progress and response to treatment during outpatient visits.
• Administer Medications and Treatments: Administer prescribed medications and treatments to pediatric patients according to established protocols and physician orders. Ensure accurate dosages and proper administration techniques to promote patient safety and well-being.
• Educate Patients and Families: Provide patient and family education on pediatric health conditions, treatment plans, medication management, and preventive care practices. Offer guidance and support to help families navigate their child's healthcare needs effectively.
• Collaborate with Healthcare Team: Work collaboratively with pediatricians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure comprehensive treatment plans. Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members to promote continuity of care.
• Maintain Documentation and Compliance: Document all patient care activities accurately and timely in electronic medical records. Adhere to regulatory requirements, including HIPAA regulations, infection control protocols, and safety standards. Ensure compliance with clinic policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

• RN License: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
• Pediatric Experience: Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, with specific experience in pediatric care preferred.
• Pediatric Certification: Pediatric Nursing Certification (CPN) or willingness to obtain certification within 6 months of hire.
• Clinical Skills: Strong assessment, critical thinking, and clinical skills specific to pediatric nursing. Ability to respond effectively to pediatric emergencies and provide age-appropriate care.
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate effectively with pediatric patients, their families, and interdisciplinary team members.
