Checkout Specialist

Job Description:

Displays and executes a unique and satisfying customer service encounter. Completes transactions via assigned cash register, serves clients with polite, equitable, amicable, and speedy cashier service.

Roles and Duties:

• Interacts with customers and patients by welcoming them warmly and providing guidance on products and services to create a positive customer service encounter. Handles and resolves customer queries for a satisfactory experience.
• Demonstrates and communicates effective customer service techniques to team members in order to provide a memorable and positive customer interaction, encompassing personal behaviors like greetings, maintaining eye contact, showing courtesy, and following Walgreens' service principles such as anticipating needs and ensuring customer satisfaction.
• - Ensures customers receive service that is respectful, genial, speedy, and productive.
• Offering advice to customers on suitable purchase options and proposing related or upgraded items.
• Manages customer purchases recorded on the assigned cash register, facilitates cash transactions, and administers change as per customers' requests. Processes voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges as requested.
• Responsible for ensuring cleanliness and well-organized presentation of counters and shelves, conducts inventory checks, and maintains records efficiently. Tags and prices merchandise following the store manager's guidelines or instructions from the shift leader.
• Enforces company asset protection protocols to identify and minimize profit erosion.
• Ensures that all requirements outlined in state and local legislation for regulated products, such as alcohol and tobacco, are met.
• Creates and manages displays, covering promotional, seasonal, elaborate structures, and merchandise on sale. Implements resets and alterations based on given directives.
• Aids in organizing food products by separating them based on type, such as keeping raw items separate from cooked ones, and arranging them according to established guidelines (like placing raw and frozen meats on lower shelves).
• Possesses operational understanding of store systems and equipment.
• Provides customer care in the photo department, which includes digital passport photo assistance, poster printing using a creative machine, and recommending promotional photo items.
• Takes on the duty of managing web order pickups, tracking orders in Picture Care Plus, preparing orders by selecting items, and delivering orders to customers upon their store arrival.
• Works towards maintaining the store's neat and orderly condition by supporting with exterior and interior maintenance tasks.
• Follows all company policies and protocols; maintains positive connections with team members.
• Accomplishes special projects and other designated duties.

Training:

• Participates in training initiatives and fulfills PPLs requested by the Manager or specified by corporate directives.

Qualifications:

• Fluency in English, which includes reading, writing, and verbal communication, is necessary
• The job demands a readiness to work during evenings and weekends, necessitating flexibility in scheduling
• Looking for a minimum of six months of prior retail experience.
• Candidates with a history of working at Walgreens are preferred for the position.
• Aim to be adept in English reading, writing, and speaking abilities, but not in Puerto Rico
• The role requires being open to working outside standard hours, including weekends and evenings.
