PTA Duties Include:

• Acting as a Therapy team member led by a Physical Therapist
• Recording and analyzing the gait patterns of residents can provide valuable insights into their physical limitations and potential for improvement
• It is essential to employ appropriate vocabulary when writing progress reports. Report writers should minimize the use of medical jargon and use well-known terminology. Doing so will ensure that all reports are easily understood by any reader
• Guiding individuals in executing targeted physical movements
• Employing several techniques to assist residents' recuperation, such as balance and gait therapy exercises
• Assisting occupants in getting the most out of vital devices and technologies
• Assisting residents with understanding how to exercise effectively to improve muscle strength and functional performance
• Preserving trust in the agency through responsible and secure management of confidential resident data
• Complying with regulations and laws can help create a positive reputation and increase customer confidence in the business
• Contributing to the success of the team and its collective mission

PTA Requirements Include:

• An individual who has earned a degree from an accredited PTA Program
• The current license for the New Jersey State PTA is still applicable
• One of the desired skills for the position is prior experience in long-term-care environments
