Material Handling Specialist

Job Summary:

As a Materials Handling Specialist at DHL, you will be responsible for the efficient and safe handling of materials within the warehouse environment. You will play a key role in ensuring that materials are properly received, stored, and prepared for shipment according to company standards and procedures.

Handling Specialist Key Responsibilities:

Receive incoming materials and verify against packing slips or purchase orders.
Safely transport materials within the warehouse using appropriate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks.
Ensure accurate labeling, documentation, and placement of materials in designated storage areas.
Assist in maintaining inventory accuracy through regular cycle counting and stock checks.
Follow safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.

Skills and Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in materials handling or warehouse operations preferred.
Ability to operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently (e.g., forklift certification is a plus).
Attention to detail and accuracy in handling materials and completing tasks.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with coworkers and supervisors.

Working Conditions:

Fast-paced warehouse environment with regular exposure to moving machinery and varying temperatures.
Physical stamina to lift and move heavy objects, and ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the shift.
